The AMD Ryzen 7 4800U is a monster 8 core, 16 thread CPU that’s meant for the thin and light notebook market. Can Intel’s Ice Lake Compete? Probably not. It could be that AMD will now dominate on the notebook side as well.

Sorry for the audio quality guys. There was some odd interference (buzzing) at our hotel room which we used post processing to mask. Trust us, this was the better solution but yeah, we all expect better. 🙁
I have just ordered a ryzen 4500u ultrabook, with 16gb ddr4, 256gb nvme m.2, 100% srgb ips 15” display for…£598!!! The intel equivalent was £850+…bye bye intel laptops 😁
900p gaming is going to be great on the 4500U for a low cost Laptop without a dedicated GPU
What mobo will be compatible with this?
OMG I wish Apple switch to AMD for their product.
2 months later , global lockdown, industry lockdown – Covid-2019.
if they put her series on alienware I wanna buy one
people dont game on laptops so intel isnt in any trouble.
I'm sure 16-core laptops are coming but I doubt they're being sold to gamers
Anyone know what laptop it is at 2:15 ?
Who's got the power, I go ..
We want more Vega cores in APU.
This entire video felt like I was watching a foreign film without subtitles…
RIP intel
At last It’s good to see AMD competing with Intel. We’ve been ripped by Intel all these years
i am for sure grabbing one of the 4800H's with a 5600m to replace my gt650+3770H clanovo laptop with 16 gb of ram
I am planning to buy once it is launch. But is it too much for data scientist work. Occasional Movie.
AMD comparing to 9750h because the price range for sure
I think Intel's discrete GPUs are just coming too little too late to be able to take a slice of this market. I would be amazed if Intel got GPUs out this year, and so if we are looking at 2021 by this time AMD will have their Renoir successor out which will be Zen 3 + RDNA 2.0, so once again AMD will have moved the goal posts of what entry level is. Both Renoir and Tiger Lake are so powerful now that they cover the entire low end from very basic 'run the screen' to low end gaming. If a customer wants more than an APU they will also want more than an Intel entry level DG1 chip and probably more then the DG2 chip too.
If Intel's timeline slips, which it almost certainly will, then Intel could find itself fighting against an APU built using Zen 4, RDNA 3(?), on 5nm and possibly even have high speed on die memory. This could be 2080+ performance depending on the memory speed they are able to stack on there. The level at which a discrete card needs to come in at is accelerating away faster than Intel can develop.
I think APUs will mean only upper mid-range and above will have a place in the market which is why the longer Intel takes to get products out the harder they will find it. It's hard to know where the discrete GPU market will go, I guess they will get rid of the low end and concertina more tiers into this higher performance segment. It should bring prices down hopefully but will likely mean certain companies have to really cut back on their portfolio.
Nvidia needs to bring so more too the table than this MX350 update if they want to stand a chance of holding onto this lucrative laptop market.
nVidia needs to be bringing the ultra efficient Ampere to the laptops, increase the core count, widen that bus and do this by the end of the year otherwise they will very quickly find that their current market doesn't need them anymore and customers are happen enough just using their APUs.
I think we're at a key inflection point this year and next, so there is still time for nVidia if it really sorts itself out. Tiger Lake and Renoir are decent but far from 'gaming chips'. They are still very much 'good enough' to game on but I think this will start to change with Renoir's successor using Zen 3 and RDNA 2 rather than Vega which should improve gaming performance pretty significantly and possibly on die memory but the real quantum leap will coming the year after with Zen 4, RDNA 3(?) on the 5nm process node and most possibly 3D stacked on die memory. These chips are going to be absolute beasts and so Nvidia needs to be pushing as hard and as fast as they possibly can if they want any chance of staying ahead of this massive APU juggernaut that's coming for what was once their uncontested market.
Me smiling and watching Intel's downfall from intel laptop
I am excited for the ryzen 5 4600H coupled with a 1650ti,it should be right under my budget as an engineering student and for machine learning and deep learning,in India Intel laptops with i5 and i7 with 16gb ram are crazy priced,so I hope that that would be the perfect combination with a good pricing.
I can't wait to desktop level performance in my future laptop.
AMD has no answer for tiger lake. 8 cores will not do it.
Im 50yrs old Glad Your Back AMD Missed YOU Xx
Wow ryzen 4th RAM support 3200Mhz to 4266Mhz
If I buy a laptop this year, it will definitely be a AMD (with these new Ryzen 4800U or Ryzen 7 4700H ) . And certainly not an Intel !!!
So it seems 4600H will be maybe as powerful as 9750h right? Wouldn't mind that if they don't run as hot.
Is there any new laptops launching 4000 series?
Intel is not new born baby. It is just a price war .And Intel will fight back
Which of the series would be best for Music/Audio production? Laptop only..
AMD Yes!
6'20 they are not comparing the same performance processors they are comparing same priced cpu …
I dont see any laptops with these cpus avail, anywhere. Announce is one thing, reality is often another. Jury is out until you can buy one.
6:10 the reason why they did that is because AMD is saying that it's faster at similar prices
