My Dell has a BIOS that is specifically designed to identify and reject non-OEM batteries, issuing a warning to the user and absolutely preventing the use of the battery I purchased. Default settings are the problem, not the solution. You may wish to take note of this issue as I'm unable to find any kind of fix for this issue.

Yeah restoring defaults in bios can mess up your computer if you don't know what your doing so probably don't do that!
