Join Art for Animals’ Sake (AFAS) for “A Day in the Life; Photographs by homeless youth of their animals” at Mind Unwind Gallery on December 1st & 2nd between 12:00 am – 6:00 pm. Presented by Art for Animals’ Sake (AFAS) and Peace for the Streets by Kids from the Streets, with generous help from local businesses and in-kind sponsors.
See how street youth capture through photography the bond with their animals culminating in an exhibition of color photography. With a disposable camera and creative guidance from mentors and professional photographers, the participants created photographs during an extended workshop conducted by AFAS. These images reveal the relationships, environments and the greater community the homeless and their allies share with animals. Homeless youth and young adults adopt puppies and kittens to supply surrogate love and a sense of family that is often absent on the street.
